The five-time Champions League winner is on the brink of joining former Los Blancos teammates Ronaldo and Varane at Old Trafford.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed Casemiro wants to leave the club amid links with Manchester United.

On Thursday, it emerged that United plan to make an official offer to sign the 30-year-old midfielder. The Red Devils have a €60 million bid in mind for Real Madrid, plus a further €10 million in add-ons. They hope to reach an agreement before the end of the week.

Casemiro, meanwhile, has a four-season contract offer until June 2026 on the table, with an option for another 12 months included.

“I have spoken with Casemiro. He wants to try a new challenge,” Ancelotti announced in a press conference on Friday.

“There are negotiations [with United], nothing is official, but his will to leave is clear. He knows what Real Madrid is. But his wish is this. It’s something personal. Sometimes you want to try something new.”

Who will replace Casemiro?

The Brazil international has been a rock at the heart of the Real Madrid midfield for several years, alongside Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, and has made 336 appearances for the first team.

But while Casemiro’s departure is a loss, Ancelotti has no plans to sign a replacement.

“Yesterday I realized it was a real thing [the Casemiro-United links],” the Real Madrid coach added.

“[But] we have signed [Aurelien] Tchouameni, and he’s one of the best on the market. Then we have Kroos and [Eduardo] Camavinga.”

Ancelotti has also confirmed that Casemiro won’t play in Real Madrid’s LaLiga trip to Celta Vigo on Saturday.
