Arsenal legend Sol Campbell has recommended his former club consider a summer move for Conor Coady.
Sol Campbell believes Arsenal should consider a move for Wolves defender Conor Coady this summer.
The Gunners have reportedly suffered their first transfer setback in Emi Buendia. The Norwich City star is expected to join Aston Villa, paving the way for new reports linking Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves to the Emirates.
But as David Luiz is gone, Campbell instead has eyes on Neves’ teammate Coady. The former defender reckons the 28-year-old is a ‘good all-rounder’ and would fit in well at Arsenal.
“There is a lot of players out there who can fit the Arsenal mold,” Campbell told Ladbrokes at the launch of the bookies’ new European Championships 5-a-side Bet.
“Conor Coady is a good player; he’s comfortable on the ball, he’s a winner. He’s definitely got the kind of mentality Arsenal should be looking at in new players.
“He’s definitely someone they should look at because he’s so solid, he wants to defend. He can pass as well, he’s quick, he’s strong, he’s good in the air. He’s a good all-rounder and he’s got a bit about him.
“He’s at a good club now in Wolves, but he’s actually someone I’d be looking at for Arsenal this summer. He’s got a great attitude as well, and I like that.”
Reports have linked defenders Jules Kounde (Sevilla) and Edmond Tapsoba (Bayer Leverkusen) with a move to Arsenal recently.
