The French starlet reveals wearing the famous white shirt was something he had longed for since the very early years of his life.

Eduardo Camavinga is on cloud nine joining Real Madrid, saying that playing for the club was something he had “dreamed of since he was a little kid.”

Real Madrid’s interest in Camavinga was not exactly a secret but it was still somewhat of a surprise when the club confirmed his signing on the deadline day of the summer market.

One of the most exciting and highly-rated young talents in all of Europe, the 18-year-old midfielder committed to a six-month contract with Los Blancos, who paid Rennes a reported €30 million to secure his services.

The Frenchman rose to prominence in 2019-20 when he helped Rennes secure Champions League qualification for the first time in their history. He was a standout performer for the club as well as one of the best performers in Ligue 1 that season.

“My signing for Real Madrid happened so fast,” Camavinga told the press after scoring for France U21s in their 3-0 win over North Macedonia, per Managing Madrid.

“I’m very happy and proud but I don’t want this announcement to change my work for the Under 21 team.

“I will keep giving my very best and of course I dream of playing for the French national team, but I want to go step by step. Now I will go to Rennes to prepare for the move to Madrid.

“I dreamed of it since I was a little kid. I want to discover the stadium, it must be impressive. I hope to take my first steps there as soon as the works and construction end.”
