The Portuguese marked his first-year anniversary as a Red Devil with a heartwarming message and a promise for the future.

Bruno Fernandes plans to spend ‘many years’ at Manchester United and vowed to not rest until he helps the club’s legacy grow.

The 26-year-old has been a revelation during his first 12 months at Old Trafford. 28 goals and 18 assists have come his way in only 53 appearances, and his performances this season have helped make the club a title threat.

Fernandes’ displays at Old Trafford have naturally stirred rumors over his long-term future. There were even reports in the Spanish press in December claiming a Real Madrid transfer could happen someday.

But the midfielder has silenced any doubts over his commitment to United as he bids to win his first trophy with the club this season.

After Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Arsenal in the Premier League, Fernandes wrote on Instagram: “Definitely not the result I wanted to celebrate my first year as a Red, but we’ll keep working to improve.

“It’s an absolute honor to play football with the Man Utd badge on my chest. The history of this football club was built over wins, many wins. I came here to help on continuing that legacy, and I won’t rest until I do it.

“I want to thank all the fans for your outstanding support. Hopefully, this was only the first of many years together. Glory, glory Man United!”
