After a full year as a Red Devil, it’s time to look back at Bruno Fernandes’ first 365 days as a Manchester United player. It’s been wild!

Bruno Fernandes arrived at Manchester United exactly one year ago today, we wanted to take some time to look back at his accomplishments. Ever since he started performing at a high level at Sporting CP, we realized he was good material for a big club. Since the 2017/18 season, Bruno’s numbers started going up in an unusual manner. He scored 16 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions for Sporting.

For the next campaign, he was already on every major club’s radar and responded with 32 goals with 18 assists. That 2018/19 season was the best of his career, but his numbers remained consistent the next year with 27 goals and 22 assists. That’s exactly when Manchester United realized they found a special player from Sporting CP once again. Bruno arrived as a winter transfer window signing for €60 million and he certainly made an impact.

Bruno’s achievements in only one year.

As soon as he arrived, Fernandes started making his teammates improve simply by staying true to himself. In Portugal, he always had a reputation of arrogance. But just like Cristiano Ronaldo has done in the past, he remained true to himself and his confidence. Ever since he arrived at the club, the man has done nothing but grow as a player alongside his club.

Today, Bruno is the first player in Premier League history to win four consecutive Player of the Month awards. He’s scored 28 goals and provided 18 assists in the last 365 days. Perhaps comparing him to Cristiano Ronaldo is not wise because they are vastly different players. However, Bruno is starting to show similar stats when compared to his compatriot. Hopefully, he can also translate those numbers into titles as well.
