The Spaniard is yet to make his debut for the Seagulls.

Ansu Fati might start Brighton’s upcoming match against Manchester United on the bench, according to Roberto De Zerbi.

Fati completed a loan move to Brighton in the final stages of the summer transfer window, hoping to get regular playing time under De Zerbi.

The Spain international could make his Premier League debut at Old Trafford this weekend. But De Zerbi has hinted that he might not be an instant starter at Brighton.

“Ansu Fati is ready to play, but I want to enjoy watching his ability and I don’t want to put any pressure on Ansu,” the Brighton boss said on Friday.

Fati arrived at Brighton on the back of a difficult spell at Barcelona, where he struggled to secure a starting spot under Xavi.

Speaking on his move to the Premier League side, Fati said last week: “I want to have a really great season at Brighton — fight for the team, try to qualify for Europe again like they did last year.”

“If we can qualify for the Champions League that would be even better.”

Following their match against Old Trafford, Brighton will take on AEK Athens in a Europa League clash on Thursday.
