According to the Spanish media, Real Madrid finally decided to make an offer to buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG in the coming days.
Everything was pointing to Real Madrid making an offer for Kylian Mbappe soon, it was just confirmed earlier today. After several reports and rumors about the negotiations for the French forward, Florentino Perez finally decided to take the next step. In recent years, the Real Madrid president was very cautious when he spoke about the player every Madridista wanted. Every single time PSG heard a rumor about this, they came out strong to deny these claims.
Even though all news outlets are giving the exclusive as their own, we saw it first from El Chiringuito’s Josep Pedrerol. This is not a drill, the offer is very real and everybody is simply waiting to see what happens with the French club. Accepting such offer will mean that they never had any hopes of Kylian Mbappe staying at the club. He’s been telling the entire world that he wanted to try his fortune somewhere else for months and today was basically inevitable.
How much did Real Madrid offer?
According to the report, Los Blancos made an initial first offer of €160 million. But we have a feeling that these negotiations will extend at least for the next two days because PSG might ask for more money. This is the main reason Real Madrid hasn’t signed a single player over the last three transfer windows. They’ve been saving their money due to the new Santiago Bernabeu Stadium reconstruction and for this moment right here.
Florentino at least has €200 million saved up for this possible transfer but he hopes it doesn’t get past €180 million. Fabrizio Romano just reported that the French giants already rejected the initial offer but we can expect a counter in the coming hours. The biggest takeaway from this is that negotiations are finally ongoing and Mbappe’s PSG exit is fast approaching. Despite the club’s reluctance to sell their player, they know there’s nothing they can do to convince him from leaving.
