After limping off during the Coupe de France, Neymar just received his most recent injury update from PSG and the news are bad.

When Neymar got injured yesterday while playing the Couple de France for PSG, we initially thought it wasn’t serious. He got a nasty tackle from a Caen defender that made him roll on the floor as he usually does. These days, very few people actually believed it when he goes to the ground with pain. Neymar built a reputation as a diver on his own over the years and most of the world sees him that way.

He also mysteriously gets injured every single year around his sister’s birthday (March 11) in order to never miss her celebrations. The first thought that came to everybody’s mind yesterday was that specific date. Nobody thought this latest tackle was serious but we were all apparently wrong. As it turns out, Neymar got really hurt and the prognosis is quite discouraging. PSG hoped he wouldn’t miss the upcoming Champions League first leg against Barcelona.

PSG’ gives the worst possible news.

As further tests were conducted on the player, the PSG medical staff found that the foul he received was definitely serious. In fact, Neymar is set to miss up to four weeks of every competition for the French club. This leaves him completely out against Barcelona next week, and it threatens his participation in the return leg. After this, the player will have to face scrutiny and criticism for the terrible timing.

If he goes to celebrate his sister’s birthday party, he needs to get ready for all the backlash that’s coming his way. PSG announced the bad news through their official website: “Neymar Jr suffered a left adductor longus injury on Wednesday evening. After the analysis of the clinical examination and imaging tests. He will be unavailable for approximately 4 weeks depending on the recovery process.”
