After getting the latest PCR test done, the results confirmed that one of Leeds United’s main strikers tested positive for Covid-19.
The Covid-19 pandemic is still causing problems within the English football community as one of Leeds United’s strikers just tested positive. After a full squad test on Tuesday, Spaniard Rodrigo Moreno was the one who tested positive for the virus.
The player is already in self-isolation and will remain there for the upcoming 10 days at least. He is currently in good health and with no further problems. Rodrigo confirmed that he made contact with a family member who was infected without his knowledge and that’s how he caught the virus.
Both he and his family are doing well but they will have to isolate in order to prevent more people from getting infected. As the Premier League health rules state, Rodrigo won’t be able to return to activity until he gets at least two negative Covid-19 results.
Rodrigo revealed his diagnosis through Instagram.
After getting his positive result, Rodrigo wrote a message on his official Instagram account. He uploaded a picture where he shows himself in good spirits despite the bad news. The Spanish striker was barely getting to adapt to Marcelo Bielsa’s system and this sets him back for a few days.
Rodrigo wrote: “Hi everyone. Unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID-19 after being in contact with a family member that had been infected without us knowing. As per the protocol I will be self-isolating and will miss the game with Crystal Palace.
“Both my family and I feel great, we are lucky enough to feel healthy and we are keeping a positive attitude. From home I will support Leeds and the Spanish National Team as a supporter and I will be back on the pitch soon. Thank you for all those who have shown concern.”
