A new and upcoming football game has released its first gameplay footage, featuring Cristiano Ronaldo and four other Premier League stars.

UFL, the new upcoming football game set to rival EA Sports’ FIFA series, has officially launched the first trailer ahead of its release in 2022.

Developed by UK studio Strikerz Inc, UFL will be a free-to-play game that was announced last August. The game will focus on a ‘fair to play’ ideology, where players are matched up against similarly skilled foes.

The creators have now launched its first gameplay trailer featuring renowned stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne, and Romelu Lukaku.

Ronaldo, in fact, is the fifth official ambassador for the video game alongside De Bruyne, Lukaku, Roberto Firmino, and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

When will the game be released?

Strikerz intends to release the UFL game later this year on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One but has not announced an official date yet.

Speaking at the game’s presentation, Strikerz Inc CEO Eugene Nashilov said: “We at Strikerz Inc have great respect for everything that has been done over the years in football video gaming.

“But at the same time, we feel that the community has been longing for a change.

“Our goal at UFL is to create a game that is immune to the issues that are blocking the genre’s progress.”

Nashilov added: “Our goal is to give UFL players another level of connection between clubs and their fans. We’ll keep revealing and signing partner clubs from all over the world, so stay tuned for updates and hot topics throughout 2022.”

Which clubs have joined?

As part of the UFL game, Strikerz has also confirmed partnerships with the following European clubs:

  • AS Monaco (France)
  • Besiktas JK (Turkey)
  • Borussia Mönchengladbach (Germany)
  • Celtic (Scotland)
  • Rangers (Scotland)
  • Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine)
