The Gunners icon eagerly searches for a window of opportunity to return to the Emirates where he spent eight successful years.

Thierry Henry is desperate for a reunion with Arsenal so much so that he would happily return to the club as a manager, a kit man, or even as a groundsman.

It was Arsene Wenger who signed Henry for Arsenal back in the summer of 1999. The forward had his breakthrough in his second season at the club, having struggled to adjust to life in unfamiliar surroundings during his debut season.

Initially a winger but converted into a striker, he was a mainstay in the Gunners team that became ‘Invincibles’ in 2003-04.

Two Premier League titles and a couple of FA Cups were also won by the Frenchman who was one of the deadliest players of his generation.

The 43-year-old, who began his managerial career by coaching Arsenal’s youth teams in 2015, is currently out of work after stepping down as the Montreal Impact head coach last month.

Henry told FourFourTwo: “Listen, if you ask an Arsenal fan if they’d like to coach Arsenal one day, they’ll say yes.

“If you ask an Arsenal fan if they’d like to score a goal for Arsenal, they’ll say yes. When I speak about it, it’s a utopia. People get carried away whenever I say that it’s my club, but I have it in my blood – I’m an Arsenal fan.

“So if you’re asking me if one day I’d like to coach Arsenal, then yes. If you ask if one day I’d like to be Arsenal’s kit man, then yes. If you ask if one day I’d like to cut the grass at the Emirates Stadium, then yes.”
