Just three days after sacking Marco Rose, the German giants have already recruited a new gaffer.
Borussia Dortmund have announced technical director Edin Terzic will replace Marco Rose as the club’s new manager on a three-year contract.
Following an end-of-season review meeting last Thursday, Dortmund decided to sack Rose after just one campaign. The Bundesliga giants broke the news a day later and, in the space of a further three days, have already lined up a successor in the form of a familiar face in Terzic.
The 39-year-old, who memorably led the club to DFB-Pokal success last year as interim coach after Lucien Favre’s dismissal, will put pen to paper on a contract until 2025 this Tuesday.
“By now, many people are likely to be aware of the special importance BVB holds in my life,” read a statement from Terzic.
“I’d therefore like to express my sincere thanks to Aki Watzke, Michael Zorc and Sebastian Kehl for the great trust they have placed in me and for giving me this great responsibility. We will do everything in our power every day to make the team and the entire club successful.”

What is Terzic’s record at Dortmund?
In 32 games in charge of Dortmund last season, Terzic boasted a winning rate of 62.5%. He led the club to 20 victories, four draws, and eight defeats before making way for Rose last summer.
The German, however, stayed at Signal Iduna Park as a technical director for the 2021/22 campaign.
Since retiring as a professional footballer in 2010, Terzic has mostly been part of the Dortmund coaching set-up. He first worked as a scout, before trying his hand at management with the youth teams.
A four-year period between 2013 and 2017 saw him become Slaven Bilic’s assistant at Besiktas in Turkey and at West Ham in England, before he rejoined Dortmund in 2018 as Favre’s right-hand man.
Terzic has remained at BVB ever since and will now get the biggest break of his career to date next season as the first-team manager.
