The England international has opened up on the expectations surrounding him for his debut season at Real Madrid.
Jude Bellingham feels he can match the high expectations placed on him at Real Madrid.
The 20-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid from German club Borussia Dortmund earlier in the summer for an initial transfer fee of €103 million.
On Wednesday, Bellingham scored his first goal in the famous white jersey. He found the back of the net in a friendly against Manchester United, setting Real Madrid on their way to a 2-0 victory in Houston.
“I know the qualities I can bring and I feel like I have slotted in,” Bellingham said afterward, adding that he’s enjoying his role in the team.
Bellingham is thrilled to be playing for the biggest club with the best players. He knows the expectations are high, but he’s ready to exceed them.
“The standards that are set and the way everyone applies themselves in training, the mentality day in [and] day out. I enjoy that,” Bellingham added.
The England international will hope to make his Clasico debut when Real Madrid face Barcelona on Saturday in Texas.
