The Polish star is yet to begin his negotiations with the Bavarians over a new contract.

Julian Nagelsmann believes Robert Lewandowski doesn’t show any signs of wanting to leave Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga giants suffered a shocking elimination at the hands of Villarreal in the Champions League quarter-finals. While many blamed Nagelsmann’s tactics for the defeats, others believed the contract situations of some of Bayern’s key players had impacted the team’s performance on the pitch.

Robert Lewandowski, Serge Gnabry, Manuel Neuer, and Thomas Muller are all in line to negotiate with the club over new contracts.

Lewandowski has already attracted interest from several clubs, with Barcelona reportedly being his main suitor. However, Nagelsmann does not believe the striker is preparing for a move away from Allianz Arena.

“Of course I would like to keep him, he is an important goalscorer,” the Bayern boss told a press conference. “He has a contract. There are conversations.

“I never got the impression that he wants to leave. We talk a lot about tactics, and he participates a lot. That implies for me that he wants to stay.

“But it’s also quite normal to think about your future, especially when you’ve been with the club for so long.”

Bayern will now return to Bundesliga, where they are getting closer to win their tenth league title in a row. The Bavarians will face Arminia Bielefeld in their next game on Sunday.
