The chief of the European and German titleholders made a few revelations while discussing the transfer plans for the club.

Dayot Upamecano is a subject of transfer interest for Bayern Munich, confirmed CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

One of the most highly-rated defenders in the world at present, Upamecano has been attracting much interest from European giants.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be his keen admirers while the 22-year-old center-back had also been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid.

With the future of David Alaba and Jerome Boateng up in the air, Bayern are said to be on the lookout for new faces in their backline – and Upamecano was rumored to be on their shortlist.

Rummenigge told on Bild Live, confirming the rumors: “We will of course deal with it, not only with this player, but in principle, on the positions where we want to do and have to do something.”

Rummenigge though ruled out his signing in the January transfer market saying “the player will be in Leipzig at least until the end of the season.”

Upamecano signed a new deal with RB Leipzig through to 2023 last year and reportedly has a release clause in the region of €45 million.
