Barcelona have included two of their recently recovered stars in the squad for the upcoming La Liga match.

Barcelona have a host of first-team players on the sidelines with injury problems. A recent Covid outbreak at the club has also worsened the situation for Xavi Hernandez’s side. However, ahead of their match against Granada this weekend, Barcelona have called two recovered players back to their squad.

Memphis Depay and Sergino Dest can make their returns in Barca’s next La Liga clash. Both players have been out of action since the Blaugrana’s 3-0 defeat against Bayern Munich on December 8.

Depay suffered a hamstring injury while Dest tested positive for COVID-19 after recovering from a groin injury. Gavi and Alejandro Balde have also returned to the squad after testing negative for the virus.

Depay’s return will provide Xavi with a huge boost upfront. The Dutchman have been directly involved in ten Barcelona goals, more than any other player.

Barcelona hoped to register Ferran Torres’ contract before the game. However, Coutinho has tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore cannot travel to England to sign his deal with Aston Villa. This will prevent the Catalans from registering Torres as their new player as they still have Coutinho on their wage list.

Following the game against Granada, Barcelona will prepare to face Real Madrid in the Supercopa on Wednesday.
