The injury crisis for Ronald Koeman’s team hit new depths as another key player picked up a nasty knock in the match against Osasuna.

FC Barcelona were at their sparkling best in Sunday’s La Liga meeting with Osasuna as they secured a commanding 4-0 victory.

Ronald Koeman had plenty to celebrate about after the match as Martin Braithwaite, Antoine Griezmann, Philippe Coutinho, and Lionel Messi all found the back of the net.

It was, however, not all smiles for the Barca boss as another of his defenders, Clement Lenglet, picked up an injury.

The French center-back was in serious discomfort following a poor landing after a headed effort to clear the ball away. Assistance from the Barca staff for him to get back on his feet and eventually hobble off the field after what looked like he had sustained an ankle injury.

Barca now have no fit first-team central defender with Gerard Pique, Ronald Araujo, and Samuel Umtiti all currently on the treatment table.

Oscar Mingueza had been filling the gap left by Pique up until now after being called up from Barcelona B.

Frenkie De Jong remains an option at center-back for Koeman’s line-up, having operated from that position a few times this season, and so is 24-year-old Junior Firpo.
