Ex-Inter and AC Milan star Antonio Cassano has dubbed Barcelona’s decision to sell Luis Suarez over the summer ‘unexplainable’.

Antonio Cassano has hit out at Barcelona’s decision to sell Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan forward was deemed surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp after the arrival of Ronald Koeman.

Suarez would go on to join the club’s rivals Atletico Madrid before the end of the transfer window.

For a player who is Barca’s third all-time goal scorer, there were claims the club mistreated a forward who was instrumental for them over the years.

Such is the above claim that Lionel Messi also publicly hit out at the club regarding their treatment of his close friend Suarez.

Antonio Cassano takes a closer look on that and says it is a ridiculous decision from the Catalan giants.

“They said Suarez was old when he left Barcelona,” Cassano said as quoted by Marca.

“Another moment of madness.”

“He scored 350 goals in six years. I don’t understand why they kicked him out [the club]. Then they put [Antoine] Greizmann as a center forward.

“Cassano also turned his attention to Lionel Messi and of course compared his career to that of another legendary Argentine in Diego Maradona.

“He [Messi] has the record for finals played and goals scored with Argentina,” Cassano continued.

“With Argentina, he has 70 goals and Maradona 30 goals. Messi has always played with great forwards but never with great defenders or goalkeepers.”
