Ronald Koeman has been using his midfielders at Camp Nou, but the Barcelona playmaker is unhappy for lack of minutes.

Things have changed ever since the arrival of new boss Ronald Koeman in Barcelona. The Dutch boss has been rotating his squad according to his tactics for the Catalan giants. However, Miralem Pjanic is not satisfied with the amount of playtime he is receiving at Camp Nou.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian professional made his move to Barcelona this summer from the Italian champions Juventus. Pjanic, though, flew to Spain with high expectations considering his top quality. But the 30-year-old midfielder has only played 303 minutes out of 900 for the Blaugrana this season according to Marca.

It would make complete sense if Pjanic replaces Sergio Busquests on the field at Camp Nou taking into account their playing style. A poll conducted on Marca suggests that 78 percent of the respondents think that the ex-Juve star should make it in the starting XI.

Moreover, Barcelona saw the likes of Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic, and Arthur Melo follow a different path. Meaning, Pjanic is expected to provide cover in the center of the field for Koeman’s side. The Bosnian-Herzegovinian, although, suffered from COVID19 and could not attend the pre-season for Barca. He also began training on September 17, which is 17 days after the entire team. Additionally, Pjanic also sustained a back injury while on international representation for his nation.

With all this in consideration, the Barcelona playmaker is one of the top choices for Koeman for his midfield. Pjanic expressed his discontent while speaking to Canal Plus recently.

“I am not satisfied yet. I am not satisfied with being at Barça, I want to leave a mark.”
