Barely 40 minutes into Barcelona’s draw with Alaves, Sergio Aguero had to leave the pitch and later be admitted to the hospital.
Barcelona have announced that Sergio Aguero went to the hospital after the 1-1 draw with Alaves on Saturday.
Almost 40 minutes into the first half, Aguero pulled up in discomfort following a clash in the box. He appeared to have trouble breathing and pointed to his chest as he doubled over.
After the medical staff assessed him, an almost tearful Aguero withdrew from the match. Philippe Coutinho replaced him before he left Camp Nou in an ambulance as part of a precautionary measure.
Barcelona later released a statement confirming the Argentine had undergone a cardiac exam after complaining of dizziness.

Speaking to Movistar after the match, the club’s interim coach Sergi Barjuan said: “Aguero was taken away. I have asked him. He told me he was a little dizzy. I have found out now that they have taken him to the hospital to see what he really has. I do not know any more.”
Joining Aguero on the sidelines is Gerard Pique, who suffered a calf problem with just over 20 minutes of the game left to play. Clement Lenglet replaced the Catalan in central defense.
In what was Barcelona’s first outing since Ronald Koeman’s sacking on Wednesday, the Blaugrana could only draw 1-1. Memphis Depay scored the opening goal early in the second half. However, Luis Rioja equalized just three minutes after the Dutchman’s strike to salvage Alaves a point in Catalonia.
