A host of top clubs are eyeing moves for Karim Adeyemi, but Barcelona have already started contacts with the player.

Having already secured the signing of Dani Alves, Barcelona are preparing for their first transfer window under Xavi Hernandez. The club have recently joined the race to sign Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi, showing serious interest in the German striker.

According to Sport 1, Barcelona are preparing a €40m bid to sign Adeyemi this winter. The Spanish source claims the Catalans might even start the negotiations as soon as this week.

Barcelona signed Sergio Aguero to bolster their attacking line in the summer transfer window. However, the Argentine must spend months on the sidelines after being diagnosed with cardiac arrhythmia.

However, an agreement over Adeyemi is still far away as multiple clubs are eyeing moves for the player. Borussia Dortmund are leading the race as the player is reportedly leaning toward a move back to Germany. Bayern Munich are also keen to sign the Salzburg star, but they cannot guarantee sufficient game time for the striker.

Among the Premier League clubs, Chelsea and Liverpool have emerged as suitors for Adeyemi. The Reds are eying to find a successor to Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, while Chelsea are hoping to find a replacement for Timo Werner.

With the winter transfer window nearing, rumours around Adeyemi have intensified in recent weeks. It remains to be seen whether the German star will leave Salzburg this January.
