With 10 days still left to gather signatures, FC Barcelona only has two official candidates for the club’s presidency ahead of a new election.

FC Barcelona’s presidential candidates are only two who can be considered official. The process to become a candidate consists on gathering signatures from the more than 160,000 club associates and the ones who reach the target will become candidates. Up until this moment, only two people have reached the established target ahead of the election.

We are 10 days away from the final moments to deliver the signatures of each pre-candidate. This means that if no more signatures are presented, we might be looking at a two-horse race for Barcelona’s presidency. We are all expecting at least one more candidate to become official within those ten days but anything can happen at this point.

Who are the two candidates?

As we all expected, the two candidates thus far are the strongest contenders for the club’s presidency. On one side, we have Joan Laporta as the man to beat during the elections. He has the full support of the club’s supporters for his successful past in the institution. On the other side there’s Victor Font, new blood with new ideas who is coming with a plan to revolutionize the club.

If these two candidates remain as the only two for the elections, this will be a very close race to call. Although Laporta seems to have more support after gathering the signatures faster, Font also has some influence on the associates. Who would you like to win FC Barcelona’s presidency? Font, Laporta, or another candidate?
