Barcelona are keen to sign Noussair Mazraoui in the January transfer window.

Barcelona prepare to spend their first transfer window under Xavi Hernandez this winter. The Catalans are eyeing moves for several players while reportedly prioritizing reinforcements in their attacking line.

However, Barca’s problems in defence might push them toward signing a new right-back. Sergino Dest has failed to live up to expectations, with Barca looking to hire another Ajax man for the job.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are considering a move for Noussair Mazraoui in the winter transfer window. The Spanish source claims Joan Laporta has spoken to Mino Rayola about the transfers of Erling Haaland and Noussair Mazraoui.

Mazraoui’s contract will expire next summer, with several clubs eying a free move for the right-back. Since Dest’s move to Barcelona, the Moroccan has been an undisputed starter at the Dutch club.

Barcelona might face competition from several top clubs if they decide to sign the 24-year-old on a free transfer next summer. However, they might decide to negotiate a fee with Ajax to finalize the transfer in January.

Barcelona have suffered a tangible decline of form since the departure of Lionel Messi in the summer. The Catalans sit eighth in La Liga with 24 points from their 16 games.

Following an underwhelming draw against Osasuna on Sunday, Barca will face Elche in their next league game on Saturday
