After further tests on Sergio Aguero, FC Barcelona have announced a long spell on the sidelines awaits the club’s summer signing.
Sergio Aguero is set to miss ‘around 10 weeks’ of action as he recovers from his latest injury setback.
The 33-year-old has suffered his fifth injury setback since last summer. He missed 38 games in his final campaign for Manchester City, restricting him to a mere 12 Premier League appearances.
Aguero then left the Etihad as a free agent and joined Barcelona in July for a new chapter in his career. But life at Camp Nou hasn’t even got off the mark so far. In fact, he is yet to make his debut or be officially registered because of the club’s financial woes.
Now Barcelona, who announced a calf injury for Aguero on Sunday, have delivered even more bad news following further tests on Monday.
“Tests carried out on first-team player Kun Aguero have confirmed a right calf injury,” read a club statement.
“He will be out around ten weeks.”

What games could Aguero miss?
According to Barcelona’s timeframe, Aguero could return to action on October 16. Therefore, he could miss up to eight games in La Liga, including the showdown with reigning champions Atletico Madrid on October 3.
The Argentina international will also be a doubt for the club’s Champions League group-stage fixtures, which are yet to be released.
Who else is injured?
Clement Lenglet missed Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Juventus in the Joan Gamper Trophy due to a tendon problem in his right knee. Barcelona are yet to state a return date for the defender.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Oscar Mingueza, Moussa Wague, Ansu Fati, Frenkie de Jong, and Ousmane Dembele are also out injured.
