According to various reports from Catalonia, FC Barcelona already has a plan for the winter transfer window after this summer disaster.

There’s no other way to look at this, Barcelona completed the most disastrous transfer window in recent memory but they have plans for the winter. The club’s ‘No Confidence’ vote that passed today was a giant step towards that direction. President Josep Maria Bartomeu is against the ropes and he might be on his way out of the institution. He has a blindsided idea that he wants to leave the club in a good position but he keeps hurting it every day with his poor decision-making skills.

The most recent transfer window paints a perfect picture of what we are talking about. Bartomeu allowed some great players to leave for little money with no apparent reason behind it. Those decisions hurt the club way more than they helped it. This is why he couldn’t sign any of the targets Koeman has. The plan for the Dutch manager remains the same. He wants Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia as soon as humanly possible to improve the squad.

Winter is looking better for Barcelona.

Should the vote of ‘No Confidence’ bring about Bartomeu’s resignation, there will be a board that makes all the decisions until a new president is elected. They will have to listen to Ronald Koeman’s requests and attempt to sign those two players. Garcia was already in Barcelona during the transfer deadline but his agents weren’t able to convince Bartomeu to sign him over a money issue. Memphis Depay’s case was slightly similar.

The Dutch star was told that they couldn’t sign him because the club wasn’t able to sell players for acceptable prices. All that liquidity that Barcelona expected never came, it was all Bartomeu’s fault. It’s hard to understand how some supporters are still behind this toxic president without realizing what he is doing. Both Garcia and Memphis should arrive during the winter and reinforce the Catalan club. If that doesn’t happen, even Koeman might consider stepping aside. The clock is ticking.
