Luuk de Jong has struggled to make an impact at Camp Nou since joining the club in the summer.

In an attempt to replace the departed Luis Suarez, Barcelona signed Luuk de Jong on a loan deal on the final day of the transfer window.

However, the Dutchman has failed to find his form at Barca, scoring only once in his nine appearances for the Catalan side. The club are now looking to offload the 31-year-old in the January transfer window.

According to Sport, the Catalans are keen to get rid of the former Newcastle striker in the winter, with their incoming coach Xavi Hernandez having serious doubts about the player’s abilities.

Moving De Jong might prove to be more challenging than expected for Barcelona as the La Liga rules don’t allow players to feature for three different clubs in a season.

Turkish side Besiktas have emerged among the suitors for De Jong as the pressure increases on the Dutch striker in the post-Ronald Koeman era.
