Despite Carlo Ancelotti’s return to Real Madrid, Gareth Bale’s immediate focus lies on the European Championship.

Gareth Bale intends to sort out his Real Madrid future once this summer’s European Championship has ended.

The 31-year-old enjoyed a strong end to his season-long loan spell with Tottenham and is set to reunite with former manager Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid this summer.

The pair previously enjoyed a successful partnership between 2013 and 2015. Bale was a key player under Ancelotti and helped the Italian win a famous 10th Champions League title for the club in 2014.

But while happy to see Ancelotti return, Bale’s focus lies on Wales’ European Championship campaign for the moment.

“I know Carlo Ancelotti, he’s a great manager. I get on with him really well,” he told Sky Sports.

“We had some great times in the past, but I haven’t spoken to anybody, I’m not thinking about my future. As soon as the Euros finishes, I’m sure I’ll have a conversation and go from there.”

Ancelotti, meanwhile, has backed Bale to have a successful season back at Real Madrid and insisted he still has ‘a lot of love’ for the star.
