Robin Van Persie believes Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is demanding more world-class teammates at Arsenal before he commits his future.
The future of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is still up in the air. Will he sign a new contract with Arsenal or will he force a transfer?
Aubameyang is the club captain, main source of goals and arguably their best player by a country mile.
However, at the age of 31 the general consensus is that the Gabon international feels time is running out to get his hands on some titles, primarily the Champions League.
Former Arsenal forward, Robin Van Persie believes that the delay has more to do with the clubs commitment to success rather than money.
Speaking to Stats Perform News, the Dutchman feels that the player will not commit until he sees the club bringing in the kind of players to push on to the next level.
Van Persie said:
“Arsenal would like for him to stay, he hasn’t really come out yet with his opinion. He got asked the question after the FA Cup final and he didn’t answer so I don’t know.”
“I don’t know what he thinks, I don’t know what Arsenal have offered him and I’m not really talking about money.”
“I’m more talking about players because players like him want to play with world-class players. He is a world-class player in my opinion, and he wants to be surrounded by world-class players.”
If Aubameyang really wants world class, could Arsenal deliver any of these guys?
