Atletico Madrid have suffered a big blow ahead of their game with Bayern Munich as it appears Diego Costa could miss out due to injury.

Atletico Madrid eased to a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday but it came at a cost. Los Rojiblancos lost Diego Costa to a potential hamstring injury in that game.

The Spanish international pulled up after 47 minutes of the match after stretching to make a pass to strike partner Luis Suarez.

Costa immediately notified the bench he needed to come off and Diego Simeone sent in Yannick Carrasco as his replacement.

After the game, Diego Simeone did confirm Costa was injured and would be assessed in the coming days.

“Our doctor has reportedly positively on Costa’s injury so far,” he told in a post-match interview with Marca.

“We will know more tomorrow but we are confident we can find a solution.”

There is no official word from Atletico Madrid yet but the Daily Mail claims Costa could be out for close to a month.

The report claims the Spaniard is likely to miss his team’s next six games, starting with a crunch clash against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The report puts Atletico’s clash against Barcelona in La Liga on the 22nd of November as a potential return date for Costa.

Luis Suarez will now be expected to fully lead the line in the absence of the Spaniard.
