Arsenal have set some transfer goals for the summer and are positive about delivering them before the October 6 deadline, insists Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal were quick to seal the deal for Willian on a free transfer after the Brazilian winger left Chelsea earlier this month.
William Saliba also arrived at the Emirates after spending the 2019/20 season on loan at Saint-Etienne. Arsenal completed his signing last season but allowed him to continue at his former club so as to support the 19-year-old defender’s development.
A third acquisition for Mikel Arteta’s team is expected in the shape of Gabriel Magalhaes, who has already undergone medicals ahead of the move.
Olympique Lyon’s Houssem Aouar and Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey have also been linked with a move to the Gunners, who aim to strengthen their squad after finishing eighth in the Premier League last season, their worst finish since 1994/95.
“I’m confident we’re going to do everything we can together to achieve the target we had [for] before October 6,” Arteta told reporters, as per Goal.
“If we are not able to do that it’s because we couldn’t reach that level or somebody beat us with our planning. It’s very clear what we want to do, we are aiming for that and hopefully, we can achieve it or get really close to achieving it.”
