Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will potentially leave an unused star player out of the Europa League list due to fitness issues.

Yes, we are talking about Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil. The 31-year-old will suffer from another disappointment in the hope of receiving game time.

Arsenal gaffer Mikel Arteta will potentially leave Ozil out of his team for the Europa League campaign. As mentioned previously, it is difficult for the manager to provide an opportunity to play for all the players.

Ozil is back in the headlines after offering to pay for the man behind Gunnersaurus mascot, Jerry Quy. Although, his odds to make it to Arsenal’s team sheet seems to be doubtful.

Fitness issues for Ozil?

The former Real Madrid man will reportedly be left out along with defender Sokratis per Football London.

Subsequently, Arteta announced the future of Ozil a few weeks ago. He stated that the Gunners have players in better condition to play.

He said in September: “You can see that the players we are changing, we are using, it’s very difficult every week not for Mesut but for some other players as well to make the squad. Every week we try to pick the right players.

“I’m really happy with the performance here, how difficult they’re making things for the coaching staff to select the squad. It’s difficult for others as well that aren’t involved in the Premier League.

“We have a squad of 26, 27 players at the moment and we can’t give playing time to all of them. Of course, I understand and I respect your questions but I have to try to do my job as fair as possible.

“I try to select the players that are, in my opinion, in better condition. The team is evolving, you can see the level they are achieving. This is where we are at the moment.

“We want to evolve more and play better and compete better. We need to keep maintaining that.”
