Pressure is piling up on the Spanish manager, with his team largely struggling to deliver results despite significant investment.

Mikel Arteta has called for Arsenal to “reset” after the international break and to “improve our game” once the Premier League resumes.

Arsenal are enduring the worst start to a campaign in the history of the Premier League, with no goals scored, nine conceded, and zero points collected from the available nine so far.

The Gunners’ record is also the worst in the English top-flight since West Ham‘s 1962-63 season.

What is further disappointing about their terrible form is the fact that the club spent over £150 million on improving their squad in the summer market, yet there has been no visible improvement so far from last season when they finished eighth in the Premier League standings.

Arteta, however, as ever, chooses to remain optimistic and is hoping his team can turn things around soon.

“I am really looking forward to having everybody available and trying to start the season the way we want,” the Spaniard said in his pre-match press conference.

“We don’t want to use any excuses but we know how difficult the start was with injuries and a lot of covid issues we had, and extremely difficult games to play.

“We have to reset now, we need to start and hopefully get everybody back on track, and start to improve our game, which is what we have to do.”
