The French defender returns to action on the back of a tricky international break.
Mikel Arteta has insisted he has ‘no doubts’ over playing William Saliba in Arsenal’s upcoming clash against Tottenham.
Saliba displayed a brilliant performance in his side’s 3-0 win over Brentford before the international break.
According to Goal, Saliba played with little training as he expected to stay out with an injury before the game.
France manager Didier Deschamps then called up Saliba for his side’s Nations League matches against Austria and Denmark.
The 21-year-old came off the bench in Les Bleus’ 2-0 win over Austria before coming back to London to continue his recovery process.
With the Qatar World Cup looming, Saliba will most likely need more workload attention. But it seems the upcoming London derby is crucial enough to force Arteta to take the risk.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, the Spaniard said: “William has shown over the past few months what he is capable of. That doesn’t mean that things are always going to go in the same direction.
“But he’s been so good that from my side I have no doubts.”
