Oleksandr Zinchenko has weighed in his opinion on one of the toughest debates in the Premier League.
Oleksandr Zinchenko believes Arsenal’s Thomas Partey is the most underrated Premier League player.
Partey was a crucial player in Arsenal’s midfield last season. The Ghanian made 33 appearances in the Premier League, 28 as a starter. His performances helped Arsenal finish as runners-up to Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title.
Yet, this season, manager Mikel Arteta has moved Partey to right-back following Declan Rice’s summer arrival.
“Underrated… I think Thomas Partey,” Zinchenko said on Vibe With Five when asked who is the Premier League’s most underrated player.
Is Partey better than Casemiro & Rodri?
In January, Rio Ferdinand claimed Manchester United’s Casemiro ‘wipes the floor’ against Partey.
“Listen, I don’t want to say something bad. He’s a world-class player as well, Casemiro, five Champions Leagues,” Zinchenko said on the Partey-Casemiro debate.
“But for me, if you wanted me to choose one, it would be Partey.”
The left-back, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City last year, added: “I had the debate in my head: ‘Who is the best holding midfielder I have ever played with?’
“It was between Fernandinho, Rodri, and Partey.
“It’s a tough one. I watched Fernandinho when he was at Shakhtar and he helped me so much. I love him like an older brother, but Thomas Partey – I don’t know.”
Zinchenko also expressed how impressed he is with Partey’s skills, inviting Ferdinand to come and see him in a training session.
“Rio, please come and see him in a training session. He has everything.” Zinchenko told the former United defender.
Zinchenko is currently preparing for Sunday’s clash between Arsenal and Manchester United.
