Just when it appeared Aubameyang would be going nowhere in January, two tempting approaches have allegedly arrived on Arsenal’s doorstep.

Barcelona and Juventus have reportedly approached Arsenal about signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan for the rest of the season.

The Gabon international is a hot topic in this winter’s transfer window. All signs have pointed towards an exit from Arsenal, as he has not played a match for the club since losing the captaincy in December.

With his best days in north London seemingly over, several clubs have expressed an interest. In fact, Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr recently made a loan offer. The proposal included a buy obligation worth £6.7 million.

Barcelona and Juventus make ‘official approaches’

But it seems Aubameyang’s days in Europe may not end just yet.

According to The Athletic, Barcelona and Juventus have made official approaches for the forward. The report claims that both clubs are interested in doing a loan deal. The only real issue is how they will afford Aubameyang’s lucrative £350,000-a-week salary.

Barcelona’s decision, however, may rest on whether they can sign Atletico Madrid’s on-loan Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.

If the Catalan club cannot strike a deal for Morata, Aubameyang could be their Plan B. However, given their dire financial situation, Barca may not be able to pay all the Arsenal man’s wages.

Juventus, meanwhile, are set to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian arrived in Turin on Friday morning to do a medical for a deal reportedly worth €70 million. He will also bank around €7m per season as part of his Bianconeri contract.
