After witnessing the sad departure of Mesut Ozil, Arsenal might have finally found a replacement for the legendary playmaker.

There is no doubt that Mesut Ozil was one of the best creators that Arsenal supporters have seen over the years. The German playmaker had 54 assists and 33 goals in 184 outings in the Premier League for the Gunners.

Despite being more than useful for the club, things took an ugly turn towards the end of his career at Emirates Stadium. Since his departure, Arsenal suffered from their worst season in 25 years as they could not qualify for any European tournament last year.

Even during the beginning of this campaign, Mikel Arteta’s team lost their first three Premier League fixtures to reach the bottom of the table. However, following a massive 5-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City, Arsenal are unbeaten in their last eight league matches.

Yet, there is no fluency to the game that is played by Arteta’s men, but things are most certainly healthier than before. Part of this recent success goes to Emile Smith Rowe, who has been guiding the team just like Ozil did back in his prime.

The 21-year-old has now successfully created more chances (19) than any other Arsenal player during the course of this season. This summer, Smith Rowe received the honourary No.10 shirt and recently expressed his wish to continue playing for the club.

Now, although the young England international plays completely different than how Ozil used to play, there is a possibility that he will be the centre of focus in regards to creativity. Furthermore, Smith Rowe will only get better with age and experience, which might be a positive sign for Arsenal.
