Arsenal have joined Barcelona and PSG in a three-horse race to sign Manchester City star Eric Garcia in the summer.
According to reports in Spain, Arsenal have joined the race to sign Manchester City centre-back Eric Garcia.
The 20-year-old has entered the final six months of his contract and Guardiola has already admitted the defender could leave the club in the summer.
Barcelona have been strong favourites to sign Garcia and even solidified their efforts to sign their former player in the current January window.
However, a delay in the club’s presidential elections means the chances of the Catalans making an addition before the Monday deadline is rather slim.
As per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners have joined the race to sign Garcia as a free agent in the summer.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is well familiar with the Manchester City star having worked with him during his time as Pep Guardiola’s assistant.
The report adds that Garcia would fit into the Arsenal philosophy, as he would at PSG who have also been heavily linked with a move.
A report last week suggested the Ligue 1 side were looking to hijack a move with Mauricio Pochettino rating the player very highly and interested in a move as well.
The report concludes that Garcia isn’t ruling out a move to any of the aforementioned clubs. However, he is leaning closer to a return to his former side Barcelona.
