Arsenal star did not hesitate to respond to Real Madrid and German international Toni Kroos’ critical comments.
Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang responded to Toni Kroos’ disapproval to celebrate with masks during the games. The striker mentioned that he will continue with his ritual as long as it makes the children happy.
The 31-year-old is a notable player with “out of the ordinary” celebrations after scoring his goals. And during his spell with Borussia Dortmund and Saint-Etienne, he fancied a Spiderman mask. Aubameyang’s Black Panther disguise for a goal celebration in the Europa League in 2019 for Arsenal is also memorable.
Moreover, Raul Jimenez put on a mask to perform a WWE tribute back in the 2019 FA Cup semi-final for Wolves. More and more players are coming with creative ideas to best celebrate their goals. Furthermore, we also see Barcelona attacker Antoine Griezmman fashion his dance move which has gone viral in recent times.
Although Real Madrid and Germany international Kroos did not find this trend amusing, coming from professional athletes like Aubameyang. And the midfielder hit out saying these pre-planned celebrations are close to being “very silly”.
However, Aubameyang could not keep his views regarding the issue to himself and wrote on social media. The Gabonese star thinks that putting on a mask helps to bring a smile to the faces of children who support football.
The 31-year-old wrote on Twitter: “By the way – does this Toni Kroos have kids? Just remember, I did it for my son a few times and I will do it again. I wish you have kids one day and make them happy like this junior school pupil. And don’t forget #maskon #staysafe.”
