Arsenal will return to Premier League action three days after their defeat against Liverpool.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta went on a lengthy rant over the Premier League’s scheduling ahead of his side’s upcoming match against Aston Villa.

The Spaniard criticized the league for forcing his side to play three days after their 2-0 defeat against Liverpool on Wednesday.

His remarks, however, triggered a negative response from Antonio Conte, who pointed to the controversially postponed derby between Arsenal and Tottenham.

Back in January, the Premier League accepted Arteta’s request to postpone the game. However, the majority of the Gunners’ absentees were due to injuries, suspensions and transfers rather than Covid-19 cases.

Tottenham issued a furious statement after the decision to postpone the game, with Conte now repeating the club’s stance.

When asked about Arteta’s comments, Conte responded: “I only want Arteta to remember the game postponed. Tottenham-Arsenal, okay? If we speak about unfair. I stop.

“But In general, I think my answer is enough. Okay, yeah, it’s enough.

“If someone wants to speak about fair or unfair. We postponed the game, Tottenham-Arsenal, if you remember. I don’t forget this, and I think that it’s not right to speak about fair or unfair.”
