During an interview in Spain, an Argentine star who also played at FC Barcelona explained his experiences with Ronaldinho and Leo Messi.

Leo Messi and Ronaldinho were one of Barcelona’s most important partnerships. An Argentine former player recalls when he also played for the Catalan club and had the experience of meeting both of them. This was obviously back in the day when Messi wasn’t playing for the first squad yet. The former player in question shared the dressing room with ‘Dinho’.

We are talking about Javier Saviola, who experienced a certain level of success in Barcelona before moving on to other clubs. Curiously, ‘Conejito’ isn’t hated at the Catalan club for eventually playing at Real Madrid later in his career. Although his time in Catalonia was relevant, he didn’t cause a major impact that would make the supporters hate him for it.

In some statements made on Movistar + and picked up by Sport, Saviola speaks about the time he spent with Ronaldinho. He also talked about the day he discovered Lionel Messi.

Saviola’s experiences with Messi and Ronaldinho.

For Jevier Saviola, playing next to Ronaldinho was one of his career highlights. To this day, he still doesn’t understand some of the things the Brazilian did with the ball at his feet. ‘Conejito’ scored many great goals in which he was assisted by Ronaldinho: “Ronaldinho was spectacular,” said Saviola.

“I saw him moving but he didn’t run and he always looked at me. Eventually I told him: ‘I would’ve never imagined you could give me a pass without looking at me’.”

On his first experience with Messi, Saviola added: “During my first training sessions at Barça, Charly Rexach told me: ‘There’s this Argentine kid, your compatriot. If you can sometime, go watch him play. You won’t regret it’. It was Leo and I was completely marveled by him.”
