After his triumphant return to the pitch at FC Barcelona, Ansu Fati revealed how he copes with the pressure of wearing the club’s #10.

When Leo Messi left FC Barcelona, very few imagined Ansu Fati would accept wearing the club’s #10 jersey with all that extra weight. But the youngster didn’t hesitate, he even embraced the opportunity to take this number. It took him less than 10 minutes to respond to all that pressure that was forming around him. After more than 10 months of recovery from a nasty knee injury, Ansu Fati finally returned to play on Sunday against Levante. Right after taking his first step on the pitch, the crowd went crazy with applause.

This is a fan base that is in desperate need of a new hero after Messi’s departure. We still needed to see if Ansu Fati is that player and his first impression was absolutely brilliant. He offered a massive masterclass of ball control and rounded up his performance with a last-minute strike from a distance. His celebration was wild as his teammates lifted him in the air. The fans were going wild as well with what they witnessed. All that waiting time was completely worth it.

Another important moment during the celebration of his goal was when Ansu Fati approached the doctor who helped him throughout his recovery. It was a beautiful moment that also says winders about this kid. After the match, Fati spoke to the press about his return and the possible pressure to follow Leo Messi’s incredible run. As per Barcelona’s website, this is what the young player said: “It is not a pressure.

“I am proud to wear the number 10 after Leo. I am happy with the club and captains for the opportunity. I did not imagine a return like this. I am happy for the victory, there is still a long way to go. Thanks to the doctors and physios who have been with me. I am happy to help the team and for my family who have been suffering these months. I am very grateful to all.”
