After Fernandes recently made a claim on the Premier League title, David de Gea became the latest Man United star to share his thoughts.

Man Utd keeper David de Gea remains confident his team can win the Premier League title this season. His reason is that the title race is blown wide open to a lot of teams as it stands.

The Red Devils have picked up 20 points from 11 matches so far and played to a goalless draw against Manchester City in their most recent fixture.

United have had mixed success as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has come under fire following their Champions League exit.

Regardless, De Gea is confident they can make up for that with massive success in the league.

His comments echo that of teammate Bruno Fernandes who also believes the Red Devils can secure domestic silverware this term.

Speaking after the Manchester derby, De Gea said as quoted by the club’s website: “Today we looked very well, very strong.”

“Now I think this year the Premier League is very open, many teams are fighting for the title, so we have to dream. We have to believe that we can win the Premier League this year and go for it.”

“It’s a very strange season. To be honest, there’s many teams there fighting for the top place, so I think we need to be very focused every game and try to win the Premier League.”

United are now only five points off first place Tottenham and still have a game in hand to go with.

Still without a Premier League win since 2013, up next for De Gea and company for their ‘title charge’ is a trip to Bramall Lane to take on Sheffield United on Thursday.
