Chelsea have been busy in the transfer window, adding five possible first-team members to their ranks with a couple more still expected to join.

Frank Lampard proved his mettle at Chelsea. Without dressing room reinforcements, he finished the 2019/20 Premier League season in fourth place. To top it off, the Blues also made it to the final of the FA Cup.

After being impressed with his abilities to work with a limited squad, the Chelsea hierarchy have backed him to the hilt in the transfer window.

Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Malanga Sarr, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz have joined the Lampard Revolution. A goalkeeper is also being looked at and will arrive in the coming weeks.

Nicolas Anelka is impressed with the current roster and believes this makes Lampard’s men contenders for the Premier League title.

“I think they have a great chance to win the title. It depends on what Liverpool and Manchester City will do as well,” Anelka told Stadium Astro.

“But he’s [Lampard] got the quality to finish fourth in the league last season and, with the signings, he’s got the quality to win it.

“It depends after in terms of the experience of the players whether they are strong enough to race until the end but the quality is in Chelsea as well.

“So I believe first, second or third. We will see a great Chelsea at the end.”

Chelsea finished on level points with Manchester United but should improve on that tally this season.
