Everton head coach Carlo Ancelotti is dazzled by the top two goalscorers in Serie A, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is an absolute pleasure to watch these two big names leading the football industry. It is important to admire the qualities that the duo has brought to this beautiful game. And Carlo Ancelotti has done the same. The Italian boss thinks that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is an “immortal, like Cristiano Ronaldo”. The 39-year-old is on top of the Serie A leaderboard with Ronaldo on the second spot. Ibrahimovic came back to AC Milan with the hopes of lifting the Italian title.
Ancelotti revealed that he did not think the Sweden international would continue playing after his move to LA Galaxy in 2018. Although, Ibrahimovic did not show any signs of stopping with his 53 goals in 38 matches for the MLS side. Also, after his return to Milan, the striker has netted 20 goals in 29 games.
“When Ibra went to play in America I thought it was the final goodbye,” Ancelotti told Sport Mediaset.
“Instead, he scored in so many games. Now he’s back in Italy, I thought it was the end and, once again, he scores every Sunday. Ask him if I wanted him at Napoli.
He knows what Ronaldo can offer.
However, Ancelotti is aware that Ronaldo will potentially follow the same path and play till his late 30s, or even more. The Portuguese superstar is now 35-years-old. And the combined age of the goalscoring duo is just mindblowing (74).
“He is immortal, like Cristiano Ronaldo. Continuing to play is easy but they don’t just play, they always score and that’s not easy.
“It never happened that I told Cristiano not to play because he is a better player than the others. You don’t have to be a scientist to understand it.”
Additionally, Ibrahimovic aided Milan to reach the top of the Serie A table ahead of the international break. They are now four points clear of Juventus which stands in fifth place. Yet Ancelotti thinks that the Rossoneri lacks the firepower that Ronaldo brings to Juve.
“They have had great results but I think the Rossoneri are still missing something to be at the level of Juventus and Inter,” Ancelotti said.
