After winning the UEFA Player of the Year Award, Robert Lewandowski has teammates like Alphonso Davies upset over another snub.

Let’s be honest, we all wish France Football back-tracked their decision to cancel the Ballon d’Or for Robert Lewandowski as Alphonso Davies does. The young Canadian full-back just came out to say what we are all thinking when it comes to the 2020 Ballon d’Or. This year was a complete steal for the Bayern Munich striker and he’s been robbed.

There wasn’t another player who came close to his level of performance. We have already signed petitions that beg the French magazine to give Lewandowski the recognition he deserves. Nobody will rest until this happens. Robert’s teammates are already doing what they can in order to make it come true.

Alphonso Davies is doing his part.

During an interview with the Bundesliga, Davies revealed he doesn’t appreciate Lewandowski not getting the award this year.

“Lewandowski is a guy who scores goals for fun and he is a great player. The thing that upset most of us was that he did not win the Ballon d’Or this year because they cancelled it. This year was his year because he won everything that there is to win at club level and he was the best goalscorer and best player.

“What I take away from him is his mentality and his will to always work to get better, to score goals, and to help the team to win.”

The Canadian star also talked about Hansi Flick’s advice and his impressive management skills: “He is a good mentor and he talks to his players, especially his young players,” he said.

“He wants everybody to thrive at this club and him being the manager is good for everyone at this club. He is a down-to-earth guy and he was a player once, so he knows what we go through and how hard it is to play this game, especially with the schedule we have right now.

“We are playing every three days and it is not easy. It is truly a blessing that he is there for all the players.”
