Aguero stimulates Messi transfer-talk alongside his uncertain future

Sergio Aguero acknowledges why Manchester City would want to buy Lionel Messi along with his dry season at Etihad.

Sergio Aguero ignited a spark in the speculation regarding Lionel Messi’s transfer from Barcelona to Manchester City. In the meanwhile, he admitted that is a difficult time for him and his future is quite blurry. 

As you all may know, both the versatile Argentines are receiving questions regarding their footballing status for 2021-22. Evidently, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner and City’s all-time top goalscorer are at the end phase of their contracts. Also, Messi and Aguero will become free agents after their agreements are over.

Aguero was quizzed on rumours that Pep Guardiola would want to reunite forces with Leo at the Etihad Stadium. He told Ibai’s Twitch channel: “Who doesn’t like to play with Leo?”

The veteran also received queries regarding his move out of England at the end of the 2020-21 campaign. The 32-year-old said: “I don’t know what I’m going to do in June.”

Indeed, the South American frontman has been an iconic figure for Manchester City throughout his spell. Aguero has a record-breaking mark of 256 goals in 379 appearances for the Premier League giants.

Moreover, he has aided City to four domestic league titles, an FA Cup and five Carabao Cup wins. Sergio aims to lift the long-awaited Champions League crown this season as he struggles with his injuries.
