The Sky Blues boss has updated on the fitness of three of his stars ahead of the Premier League clash on Wednesday evening.

Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne have returned to full training for Manchester City after recovering from their injuries, Pep Guardiola has confirmed.

Ilkay Gundogan, meanwhile, has been unable to shake off his groin injury and will miss the upcoming match against Everton.

The Premier League Player of the Month for January started against Tottenham but was forced off the pitch and down the tunnel in the second half after scoring a brace in the 3-0 win.

The Argentine striker has struggled to stay fit this season. The 32-year-old, who underwent knee surgery in June and contracted coronavirus earlier, has made a mere five appearances across all competitions so far in 2020/21.

As for the Belgian playmaker, he has missed a total of seven matches ever since limping off during the win over Aston Villa last month.

Guardiola said of Gundogan, via Goal: “Gundo is much better but I don’t think he will be available for tomorrow.”

On Aguero, he added: “Sergio has been injured for a year, so cannot start from the beginning but is ready to come back. He was on the bench for the last game and will be again. When he can return he will do.”

The Man City boss updated on De Bruyne: “Getting better, really getting better. Today he did all the training with the group. He’s much better.”
