Following the conclusion of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations group stages, the Technical Study Group (TSG) has released a list of the top performers in Cameroon so far.

Best Player – Vincent Aboubakar πŸ‡¨πŸ‡²

The Cameroon captain has scored in each of the Indomitable Lions’ three Group A games. Unsurprisingly, he is also the best scorer in AFCON with a tournament-best of five goals in total.

Best Young Player – Ilaix Moriba πŸ‡¬πŸ‡³

The former Barcelona midfielder has put aside his Leipzig woes to impress Guinea. Despite only making his senior international debut this month, Moriba has quickly settled in. He starred for the team in the last two games against Senegal and Zimbabwe, helping the National Elephants finish second in Group B.

Best Goalkeeper – Mohamed Elshennawy πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡¬

The 33-year-old Al Ahly goalkeeper produced eight saves and two clean sheets in Group D to help a below-par Egypt side reach the last-16 stage in AFCON with a second-place finish.

Best Coach – Augustine Eguavoen πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬

The AFCON Group Stage Best Manager title goes to Augustine Eguavoen.

The 56-year-old took charge of Nigeria in December on a caretaker basis and has since led the Super Eagles to three wins in three games to secure top spot in Group D.
