The Serie A leaders dropped crucial points at San Siro as their top-of-the-table rivals close in on them.

Udinese held Milan to a 1-1 draw in their Serie A game on Friday. The Rossoneri were not able to win for the second game in a row while seeing their Serie A lead in danger.

Milan missing Zlatan?

The Rossoneri dominated the possession early on while attacking the guests’ backline from both flanks. They eventually broke the deadlock through Rafael Leao just before the half-hour mark.

An inch-perfect assist from Sandro Tonali found Leao, who smashed the ball into the back of the net as soon as he received it inside the six-yard box.

Milan continued their attack to double their lead in the second half. However, a 66th-minute goal from Destiny Udogie equalized the game for the guests. Udinese then completely retreated into their half to defend their hard-earned point.

Stefano Pioli’s side made several goalscoring chances in the final ten minutes, but they lacked enough edge to convert them. While Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues his spell on the sidelines, Milan feels the need for an experienced striker more than ever.

What’s next for Milan and Udinese?

The Rossoneri will now have to see what their opponents on top of the table do in their upcoming games. For now, they lead the league with 57 points from their 27 games.

Milan will prepare to face Inter in the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Tuesday, while Udinese will host Sampdoria next Saturday.
