San Siro is the place where Man United visited AC Milan for a crunch Europa League Round of 16 match. We got tonight’s player ratings.

After an exciting first leg at Old Trafford, the feeling was that AC Milan actually had a chance to eliminate Man United tonight. San Siro opened its doors for the Round of 16’s second leg in a surprising Europa League fixture. We previously saw how Tottenham Hotspur got eliminated by Dinamo Zagreb and this was the game to watch. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted to offer the best possible starting eleven for a game that didn’t have Zlatan Ibrahimovic from the start at AC Milan.

The Swedish striker just recovered from an injury and he was advised to sit on the bench until the second half of the game. We didn’t see a goal until the second half. It was a leveled match until the Red Devils decided to make their only substitution of the game.

Pogback!

After the break, Ole decided to give Paul Pogba his highly anticipated return to activity after a long injury period. It took him two minutes to make a massive difference in both the game and the final result. Remember when Ronaldinho scored that wild goal at Stamford Bridge during his golden years in Barcelona? Well, Pogba scored the winner in a similar fashion as an homage to the Brazilian. But his impact was far greater than just the amazing goal he scored. His job consisted of blocking the exit of AC Milan’s midfielders from their own territory.

Solskjaer’s wager did wonders and United got the result. Zlatan Ibrahimovic came on the pitch with half an hour left on the clock but he wasn’t able to make a difference. There was only a header that Henderson saved from the Swedish striker. But that’s about everything he did. Feel free to take a look at tonight’s Europa League results. We finally have the eight qualified clubs to the quarterfinals.
